Verified ReviewerDon't bother. The whole process is a waste of time. Paintings take forever to arrive, there is bad customer service, and the paintings are clearly not originals and look cheap.
Do not order paintings from them. That's my best advice.
They said the paintings were coming from Mexico at first. Then they said they moved to Florida.
Where they're really coming from, and have always come from, is China. False advertising.
- One of the two paintings i ordered looked good
- One of the two paintings i ordered looked cheap
Preferred solution: Nothing
User's recommendation: Don't bother. Save your money.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Beware - I have purchased multiple times and their quality is DOWN
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. Refunded through paypal.
I purchased two paintings a couple of months ago and they are BOTH bad - one had paint chips due to being wrapped before it was dry and the other the shadowing didn't line up and looks stupid. They told me they would redo and send me new ones. The deadline for me to receive passed - they had an excuse and then send me a new tracking number. It hasn't arrived and from the tracking number is going back and forth in the same area.
Now it is too long since my original purchase paypal will not refund me. They have strung me along on purpose.
They said their paintings are repainted and copied in Hong Kong. Sad they are ruining their father's legacy like this.
- Beautiful artwork and pricing
- Do not provide quality work anymore or product
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Do NOT purchase or file a claim right away - don't trust them to string you along with false promises

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Fake paintings fake signatures
No, my business with the Klan Afremov are over. I have waste too much of my time trying they learn and fix the issues immediately. This is dragging since months now
I only can recommend to contact Dimitri Afremov if you have important claims to do from Afremov.com. Do not contact any other Afremov, but Dimitri. He will surely give you the best service for your particular case.He is a reasonable person with a lot of attention to keep his father legacy undamaged, and doing all he can to have the business working properly.
We had the opportunity to talk directly to Dimitri Afremov concerning our disappointment for the last order. He understood the legitimacy of our claim and we understood where the mistake was originated, so we agree to end the matter in a friendly manner and I believe we both are now fully satisfied.
I will recommend people with similar issues with Afremov to contact directly with Dimitri Afremov and explain your disappointment(s) openly. I found today a very reasonable person at the other side of the phone and all was solved in a matter of minutes.
Compare below the real signature of Leonid perfectly aligned with an extension of the horizontal line in the A and the F and R perfectly separated with the fake signatures the scammers of Afremov art sent us in 6 of the 14 (all paintings) declared as originals.
We encourage the scammer David Afremov, who threat to take legal actions against me, to go ahead. I, Carlos Wotzkow will end your scam.
We have all the e-mails with your apologies and the still keep as proof, the 14 garbage paintings you sent as painting of your father. We tried to solve this issue in a friendly manner and we only got empty promises. Example: the originals your brother said was sent at the time of the full refund you now said was cancelled by you. That mean, or your brother lie or you lie.
You are a bunch of liars and I will not stop denouncing your company of scams until you prove me wrong by sending the promised real original paintings of Afremov. We have all the fake signatures in the junk you sent as originals of your father. You are disgrace for the memory and good reputation of your father's art. We treasure a 27 collections of real Afremov's, some even modified by Leonid at our request.
Try to BS other people with your despicable strategies. Everything we purchased was stated as Afremov originals "one of a kind" and we took care to picture the product you advertise with your father signatures and those you send us, sometimes with fake signatures and others without any signature. You talk about one order (000204581) but we make 4 ending 55, 57, 58 and 81. All we ordered was Leonid Afremov originals as stated in the Afremov website, no made by unknown artist of your Gallery which are painting like 3 years old kids.
Scammers using semantics!!!!! You should feel shame of yourself.
The money have been refund, but the products offered as originals never arrived, despite the company indicated they were shipped. I still believe they are scamming buyers offering original paintings of the artist but sending bad copies made by local students of Leonid Afremov
- When leonid was alive it was a great art website
- His son david has decided to spit on the legacy of his father

I was very surprised when my wife showed me another name on the back. This painting may have been worth $500 if it was painted by Afremov.
But it is not worth your bargain price painted by another.
This was very deceiving.
Smart though, you got me and I have been around the block a few times. Shame on you

Verified ReviewerAfremov - Saling recreations passing for originals one of a kind....
I ordered what they call 2 "Surprise Originals painted by Leonid Afremov from David's personal collection"..those were supposed to be unique. I received the paintings and if one of them was all right the other one was clearly NOT painted by Leonid Afremov.
I received 2 COAs stating that those were one of a kind originals painted by Leonid himself which was clearly not true..but what really made me tick is when I found on their website that my "unique one of a kind" paintings were listed for sale with different names....in the meantime I had ordered another one and discovered again that this was not a one of a kind but a simple recreation sold with a special COA and a brand new name...I have included the various COAs, the pictures of the paintings I received and a screen capture of the way they listed the paintings...The paintings I received were called Magical Rain In The Park on my COA when in fact it is called Foggy early morning on their site, or Last Boat on my COA when it is in fact Purple Impression
So I am extremely disappointed as it WAS sold under a FALSE description. Worse, they made COAs with false informations on them just to make me believe I bought a unique painting, which make those COAs worthless..and what is even worse is that the signatures on all 3 paintings don't match.. they were not made by the same person..which means they are selling fakes passing as originals...
I manage to have one of those paintings refunded....I have bought other paintings to them sold as recreations that I liked and a few LImited Edition Originals that I am now wondering if they truly are "originals" as , again the signatures are off...the paintings are lovely but they are scamming people with false descriptions and fake COAs... STAY AWAY from them!!!

I bought 2 works in frame. When ordering and paying, the seller does not inform you that additional hidden costs have to be paid.
Therefore, read the sales and shipping conditions carefully.
The relatives and their studio of the famous painter work on the assembly line. Their promotion times will restart after expiration. Buyers are led to believe that decisions must be taken quickly.
Trade is only free of import taxes on the US market.
So people are on the lookout for these malicious practices. Leonid turn himself in his grave!

Verified ReviewerResolved: Afremov - Fake print
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with partial refund. refund - taxes.
Got a call from them. Waiting for delivery..
I will keep changing my review as the situation evolves:
First of all I've ordered set of 3 on a frame. Because of the delay they sent me a complimentary print. I paid tax on it. I am in Canada I just paid $82.61 tax. Got the tax refunded. They reply pretty fast, if they see a negative review.
Yesterday I received my set. It is not a true replicas. Paid another tax $88. Yes it is on canvas but ... it is far from original to say the least. Colors mismatch. Amount of details. I would not hang it in my garage. I was upset with the quality of reproduction,
What they show you on the site are the originals made by Afremov.
What they send you are low quality quickly made "copy" by some guy. In my case it was Christian Rubio.
After my complaint I got offered another "master piece" right away. I refused and ask for the refund. They promised to send the prepaid return label.
Let see if I get the refund.
Update:
Ok. I've got my refund minus taxes. I have to get it from the government somehow. They are pretty responsive as a customer support.
Here is the problem: They show an original painting on the web site, but they send you a poor replica. Perhaps somewhere they mention that in a fine legal print. But:
What you see is NOT what you get!
They have to show the actual replicas on the web site and sell them.
From what I understood they mass producing the original paintings, but the quality is low. But on other hand you can't buy a good painting for a couple hundred...
If you don't like it - they will refund.

Verified Buyer"Recreations" are surely not done by Leonid Afremov and look aweful
I ordered 4 paintings as recreations from afremov. I only write this review because they are not answering my complaints.
Those were:
"Rain Princess 3"
"Morning Sun of January"
"Music"
"Old Magic"
At first, I received only the 3 first called paintings. Old magic is still pending. Even in Corona-times the delivery was incredibly fast, so I was really impressed.
But as soon I got my paintings I opened them and were more than disappointed.
I would like to cite the page itself: "his recreation was finished by Leonid Afremov himself with the help of his best studio artists to do pencil drawing and basic background." "This recreation is made almost identical to the original image that you see online. The only difference is patterns and minor details that give the recreation and original feel." and "This piece was created with the same amount of soul and emotion just like the first original painting." and from the page which explains recreation: "Leonid employees profesional artists who do the pencil drawings and backround layers for him. Then he himself finished the details of the painting. "
The Rain princess 3 looks like a rain princes painting, but totally not like Rain princess 3. It looks like a cheap copy of it. lines are just straight strokes instead of the original round lines and the effect is total different. The tree in the background is a drawn joke, the buildings to the right are just blocks and there is not any 3D-deep-effect like in the original, which it claims to be almost identical to. the strokes are just way less and bigger and much more loveless. It does not look like Rain princess 3 and it does not in any kind look "almost identical". This is just a lie.
But it gets better with "Music". This just looks like a child made his first steps with perspective painting and is putting all the assembly parts of the violin somewhere in totally wrong positions and wrong proportions, same with the glass. Some parts are horrible deformed and the books look like breaking skyscrapers. It has nothing to do with the original and is not in any way almost identical".
The best part becomes the morning sun of January. Even if I would try this myself, I need to put effort in it to make it that bad. I thought I am a bad joke to them. I really can't imagine that Leonid ever touched this painting or would have let it be sold. Because the name on this picture just ruins his name and all of his creations with such examples. Just look at the original and the "recreation" I also uploaded.
If someone describes on his page that these paintings look "almost identical" and it is finished by Leonid Afremov, what do you expect? So even if you watch his videos doing recreations? Such paintings?
I'm not even sure how they have done this. I would expect that they will use a projector or something and then doing the pencil work etc. But because all the stuff is even in the wrong positions it seems they are just terrible high speed painting without putting any effort in it.
Well it seems that receiving a really nice paintings from Afremov for just $149 stays an illusion. If I would have read this page and the reviews here, I would not have bought those paintings.
I would rather get a giclée print of those.
So for the "old magic"-painting which is still missing, I wrote them I want a picture of it. I put my complaints and that wish in one mail, and they didn't respond, besides else they respond really fast.
What I have read now is in another complaint from october 2019. A copmment from afremovs themselfs about recreations: "We sale studio recreations , and some recreations that are done by my father and the studio together ( I think in couple days we will sale the last one and the category will be removed)". How interesting that 9 months later there are still such recreations!

Verified ReviewerResults are hit and miss. Paintings are done in China.
Paintings are done in China under the brand name Leonid Afremov. It is a brand now, not the artist's name.
He is deceased. When it says 'an original by Leonid Afremov,' it means painted by a studio artist. The studio's name is Leonid Afremov. The misunderstanding is purposeful.
The paintings are also signed 'Leonid Afremov,' but it's not the artist; it's the studio. Bottom line is that the paintings are misrepresented on purpose, which is easy to understand when you realize the name is the brand, not the artist. Word games. I was promised that my latest purchase was the only painting offered, and I purchased it.
What I got was a horrible copy. I have uploaded the picture of the one promised and the one I got, which has peel-off plastic because the oil paint is still fresh. Dmitry promised me in writing that I would get the one shown on the site as it was the only one.
I got a poorly done Chinese knockoff instead. They are refunding me, and I will not get the one promised.
- God when good
- Bad when bad
- Half the time
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Hit and miss, but so far they've refunded when I got a poorly done painting. I'd rather have what I paid for. Half the time no problem, half the time poorly done painting.

Verified ReviewerMakes you think these are the artists paintings. They're not.
Leonid Afremov the artist is dead. His name is now a brand name, like Kate Spade or Channel.
When it says it is an original by Leonid Afremov it means an original by a studio artist. The confusion is on purpose, which is deceitful. The first few paintings I purchased were very good. The last 3 have been horrible copies.
They told me to just keep them and refunded my money. I gave those last ones away to my house keeper. The problems arise when people think they're getting a painting by the artist himself and they're not. I have also been told that my latest purchased painting is a one of a kind only to find other copies are also painted by the studio and tend to be a poor copy of the one presented on the website.
The paintings come from China, the last one via Canada. I'm returning it because Dmitry promised me in writing the very painting shown on the site and I received a poor quality Chinese copy. The pictures are what I was promised, and what I received. What I received had peel off plastic because the oil paint was still fresh.
This is the risk you run with this company.
Some good, some bad. Lately, mostly bad.

So getting scammed by Boris Afremov
Getting scammed so far, we'll see how it plays out.
I own 2 L. Afremov original paintings.
I 've been receiving emails from Boris Afremov regarding a "Sale" of his fathers paintings.
I purchased one.
It wasn't until weeks after the purchased did I find it was coming from Hong Kong.. WTF???
I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
What I received appeared as if it was painted by a 3 yr old.
I called to return it, he answered, said he would call me back with options (options??)
This 3 hrs ago.
I'm still waiting.
See pics.
Heck the least could have done was make some effort to forge his fathers name to some degree.

Verified ReviewerScammed, can't get my money back
Theyre continuing to ghost me
Years later when I finally took out the painting and got a good look at it I realized it was garbage!
It didn't look anything like the picture online. Many details were missing or incorrect, the painting style was completely different than advertised, and the colors were unsaturated and not placed correctly per the listing.
I emailed them and they offered me a refund or a replacement. I opted for the replacement but it never came! I waited and waited and they swore it was on the way but it never came.
I then asked for a refund and they claimed they had sent it, but it never came. I'm now being met with radio silence as I email them over and over again.

Verified ReviewerUnwanted, repeated spam emails that continued even after unsubscribing
I never signed up for any sort of mailing list for Afremov's painting, but I noticed some months ago that I was receiving emails concerning the paintings and various sales to my spam inbox. After a couple weeks of getting these emails seemingly daily, I finally clicked the 'unsubscribe' at the bottom of one of the emails and unsubscribed, or so I thought.
Now, a few weeks later, I am still receiving these emails, and it is driving me insane. I have never purchased an Afremov painting, I have never wanted to purchase one, and these spammy business tactics are not going to convince me to buy one either!
User's recommendation: Prevent them from getting your email address, because they will spam you in any way they can (I also don't know how they got MY email address)

We’re sorry one of your paintings didn’t match your taste. Art isn’t math — not everything is meant to add up perfectly.
For clarity: we don’t paint in China; we ship from there. It’s called logistics, not deception. Everything we sell is a genuine hand-painted oil-on-canvas artwork, and the shipping point doesn’t change that. As for your comment — we’ll take it as proof that at least one painting was a success.
Maybe the next one will make it two out of two. For any question you can contact me directly at order@***.com or call me +529841****92
Do you truly not see how that makes no sense at all? So you're saying that when you finish painting, the painting magically teleports to China and is shipped to the customer from China?
You couldn't have screamed "my paintings are made in China" any louder than you did with your comment.
Thanks for preventing me from getting scammed. Now I won't be buying anything
